My mind is still reeling from the punishment of the BW+BK fest. From Ripper Owens band on Thursday night until Trouble tied things up on Saturday it was one of the best fests I have ever attended.
Hypocrisy and Death Angel were hands down my favorites but not too far out front of Soilwork, Raven and the mighty Trouble. Excellent, excellent excellent line-up.
The acoustic set-up was brilliant. It was great to see Jacobs Dream after so many years, last time was at a Powermad show. And it was a total trip to see Ripper Owens sing Edge of Thorns with Chris Caffery.
Finally, Russ Allens acoustic set- complete mind blower. I had no idea he was so accomplished on bass and acoustic guitar. His versions of the Rain Song and Balckbird were unbelievable!
Standing next to Russ and Ripper at the signing table ws a total Im not worthy! moment, full blown Waynes World.
