C´mon, what did you get?

Because i'm not a catholic and thus Jesus was just another guy to me (if he even existed) and because i simply do not believe in what christmas is supposed to stand for. Just another day in the year, except everything's closed.

Fair enough... I'm an athiest and don't mind admitting it's a huge excuse to spend 10+ hours amongst masses of other shoppers trying to find the ideal gift for too many people. Perversely, I enjoy Xmas shopping...

perhaps you wanted to say "because i'm not a christian". ;)

I didn't get anything because i don't celebrate Xmas and because i spent december 24 and 25 with my grandfather and father, who don't celebrate it either.

for some reason, this evokes images of three generations of undocontrols sitting in austere armchairs, looking at each other glumly, arms crossed, and shaking their heads in formal disapproval of the festive day they're forced to endure. every once in a while, one of them will call the nearby 7-11, where a lonely pakistani is warming up some hot dogs. :p

thanks marduk!

Siren: I'm not sure, is it jews and christians that are catholic of jews and catholics that are christian?
ah, i'm not sure what you said there, but jews and christians are two different religions. the christian religion has subdivisions (ie slight variations in belief of some groups, but the main core is the same in all of them), two of which are the catholic church and the orthodox church.

You're totally off.

Christianism contains catholicism.
Judaism is a whole different story, just like islam.

But christianism has its roots in judaism, maybe that's what confuses you.

"Jew is just free-thinking christian" - Nietzche
I second that.
