cabin fever media updates.

More updates from the almighty Sundin.

Log on, you cunts, and praise the Lord... Sundin, I mean.

^ Haha even though 'tius very funny, it's defnetly nor Niklas's style hehe.

Now, on topic :p .

It is just simply amazing, Niklas never ceases to surprise me. He is simply such a wonderful artist, in both the musical and drawing sense.

But I have to admit that when i saw the new drawings I truly felt overwhelmed... they are just amazing!!!

I mean, REALLY, the use of colors, the way he handles perspective, the precision and beauty in which he draws the bodies, the detail... .

Ahhh I feel so happy... .

Congratulations Niklas, for you have done it again, you have made me happy :) .

You fucking lying fuck-face - WHERE ARE LEGIONS OF SMILEYS????

AREN'T YOU FUCKING HAPPY ENOUGH????

:heh: :saint: :Smug: :Smokin: :zombie: :headbang: :Smokin: :worship: :yow: :hotjump: :worship: :guh:  :loco: :tickled:

@kov: I totally read it that way now... ouch

Well, I guess no one read it, but I promised that due to me loving everyone here for being such nice lads and me having 1000 posts, as a present I said that I wouldn't use excessie smiley's for 10 posts that I made here. Only 2 more to go

just wondering, but do you like Niklas' art because you really like it or because it's Niklas'? :err:
i mean what about if you find out that the artist is, dunno..... Åke Lindström???? :guh:  (to any Åke Lindström.. this name is just fake, ok? ;) )

personally I like alot stuff like Kayser and Agregator cover illustration, and then a very very old picture that i cant find anymore!!!! :erk: it was like a hanged shaded girl at dusk with a black tree and something glittering on the background. it wasnt important imo what it was but the contrast between the dark and the glittering...

but talking about the ink/pencil drawings, they really tear my heart, i mean they give me a sense of immense chosen solitude. dunno if this is what Niklas wanted to express.

@Undocontrol: thx so much for your welcome!!! :) :)

Back in the day his covers caught my eye, I even bought a few records because of those (Arise, which I didn't like, and a couple of Eternal Tears of Sorrow albums), I found out it was almighty Sundin's work much later.

I can possibly differ his art and someone else's... [there are] so many people who follow the treaded path already, but they haven't got past his Reroute to Remain elements. Some tend to have their own style, it's all good, but I can hardly recall any good covers which aren't NIklas'.

There's one cool Russian artist (leohao? yes, just checked - http://www.leohao.ru/ ), he did (does?) Blind Guardian covers + Iced Earth's one of the last ones and some art for Heroes of Might and Magic V and more; anry - also a Ruskian guy + http://www.furiae.com/index.php?view=gallery (one Swedish lady, AFAIR), which I also like, but their work is something averagely amazing - illustrations are great, but it's everything that I HAVE SEEN ALREADY somewhere. Not that I can say that about Cabin's art.

Well when I first found out he was an artist, I didn't get all fanboi-ish immediately. It was more of a skeptical acceptance that he did something other than make awesome music. However, when I finally did check out his site, I was stunned. Not even so much by the album covers he has done, which are great, but mostly by the 'simple' pencil sketches he had up on the old site.

I remember checking the credits in haven and it said booklet layout art and design by n. Sundin or whatever and I just thought, what a talented dude. Then noticed he was credited on quite a few albums. I bought nightrage - sweet vengence because of it's kickass cover (and from a bit of hype I heard)... then looking at cabin fever I really liked his stuff. The only other artist I've been an actual fan of is probably salvador dali, and I think niklas' images are sometimes similar. There's always alot to look at anyway, and it's usually quite thought provoking.

True, I think I first heard that he did art through one of the cd booklets. I still think that the sketches show more of his range, because, as I was telling my friend the other day, it seems like he's getting pegged into a corner by the requests he gets nowadays.

It's like...

Band: "Hey, we'd like you to do our art!"
N: "Sure! What kind of theme are you looking for?"
Band: "Well, something with people without faces... or, no! Taking off their faces!... And hands reaching out of stuff!... and maybe some building we like in the background faded with a color!"
N: <goes and cries in a corner about his art>

Now, I'm not saying he doesn't do it very well - he does - it's superb - but, what I originally like most about the cd covers he did was that no two of them were too similar. I guess that's what happens, though, when you show how good you are at doing a specific thing.

I have to say that, as a graphic design student, he . . . RULES! ! ! :worship:  I want to be like him some day... So I can work with him one day... So I can get lots of money... *Keeps dreaming*

will t shirts ever be available again for CBM ? I missed out, and like the spastic fish on the splash page :)

http://niklassundin.com/ is up and running again and I found http://niklassundin.temp.citynetwork.se/2009/06/17/hello-world/ to be noteworthy since it is in a style I don't think he has done before. I like the merging of a human and a wolf's face with different elements.

Something else I noticed is that everyone seems to be gone fishing:

Could be coincidence but since he likes them it may not be. I recently rediscovered them for myself (actually that was yesterday).

Oh, and t-shirts of the cabin would be awesome.
