I really don't know how to explain this, but somehow over the years, this band has totally slipped me by.

So I love Becker's work with DLR (that's all I've heard of his work) and I'm obviously a huge fan of Friedman. Other than the Megadeth stuff (pre-CW), I have Dragon's Kiss and Scenes. Yes, I LOVE Scenes so get over it. I think the collaboration with Kitaro ruled immensely!

So anyway, should I just go ahead and hunt down Cacophony??? I hear Speed Metal Symphony is/was a small masterpiece....but I'm afraid that it might sound horribly outdated today. And what about Go Off?

Help.

It is not a "small masterpiece" it is a HUGE masterpiece of amazing guitar oriented u.s. power metal . All riffs and solos are divine, and the songs cant be more guitar oriented than that. BUY IT (Speed Metal Symphony- havent heard the other one)

Speed Metal Symphony is amazing and Go Off!! is also very good, but I'd go with SMS. Actually I'd go with Perpetual Burn and Dragon's Kiss, since Marrino and lyrics were the weakest links on the band.
