I found like free samples on their website from a while ago or something that had two songs per album and the newer stuff sounded better but its still a generally good band all around
Well I was skeptic about the band since I listened only to a few samples years ago. In the wake of the PPX coming they released a package of songs to have a taste of the band. I dig it so much that I bought all their albums (minus "Darker Than Black" OOP) before their live presentation.
After listening to them on stage I became totally into the band, not the best outfit on Earth or the best traditional/power from USA, but they do a good job and the music delivers.
I hadn't listen enough to all the albums as to recommend one in particular, but the new one may be a good choice.
BTW I found DTB on eBay and I have ordered already (but the seller hadn't answer my e-mails so far. If I don't get an answer by Tuesday I'll have to become medieval on them )
Awesome band! You can't go wrong with either Darker than Black, Hell Destroyer or the new one Science of Annihilation. They were awesome at PPUSA X - was so glad they pulled off live what you hear on the CD.
Whatever album has Kill the Devil kicks serious ass.
Astrology was decent though the production was lacking. I've not heard their recent material in depth but if you can find a set list of their PPUSA set - find the albums with those songs.
I had Astrology but I did not like it at all. Fortunately, I got to hear Hell Destroyer and it sounds like a new band to me. I have to pick up the Science of Annihilation and check that out as well (another listening session, Wyvern?) jejeje
Agree, I did not care for the early stuff, and indeed they sound like a completely new band from there on. So, if you heard the old stuff and did not like them, definitely give them another shot!
