Yes very useful !

"As useful as a chocolate teapot"

Well, you can only blame yourself if you drink swedish beer, hah! (actually I've never tried swedish beer. Only Brittish, German, Danish, Polish and beer from Czech rep.). But don't push your luck!

Paxonman: where the hell did you go? in stockholm a bottle of beer is like 2-3 pounds.

on july 7 there is gonna be a one day festival called metaltown i gothenburg with Motörhead Tool and more www.metaltown.se

Woah, a bottle of beer? If you buy a pint of beer (0.5l or 0.6l) from a bar it's like mmh... 3.5 euros, which is like... 2.4 pounds, but if you buy a normal bottle of beer, 0.33l... It's far less than 2 pounds. And from the shop, you can buy 12 bottles of beer, which is 4 litres, for 4.8 pounds.

Well, this is how it is in Finland, and I don't think it's that much more expensive in Sweden... perhaps Paxoman went to some five star restaurant.

Went to Stockholm many years ago, and even then it was £9 a bottle of beer, and £5 for a burger. So good luck mate!

Mate if your right about pricing (I knew it was more expensive but £9 :heh: for a bottle of beer!) then this could be the dullest stag weekend in history

Well, if the prices would be like that, all the swedes should move to some other European country, like Germany or UK. They could buy the whole country, rich as they would be

Maybe things have changed in Sweden now. But when we were there (for England v Sweden, in the game that Terry Butcher cut his head and wore that bloody bandage all game), the price was definitely £9 a bottle. That was in a hotel admittedly, but from what I could gather, beers everywhere were very expensive. I think the Government put a heavy tax on beer to curb youngsters from drinking. But it sounds like all that has changed now. (Good job!). Have a good one Fingers.

Maybe the prices were that high because of that England vs Sweden game, haha. Believe me, beer would cost 10 euros to swedes who would come to Finnish bar while there's Finland vs Sweden icehockey game going on.

Well we went to Gothenburg and it was awesome.

Nowhere near as expensive as we all expected.

I didn't get along to the "Metaltown Festival" featuring Motorhead, as it was a Stag weekend and we tried to stick together but hey we had a top :kickass: couple of nights, I managed to get a rock/metal fix in the Dingo bar? and the Hard Rock Cafe on the Avenue.

All in all a great place to go and highly recommended. :Smokin:

P.S. Sammi / Princess you may be fans of the Swedish geezers but I can tell all the lads on here "The ladies" in Gothenburg were something else, now all I need to do is try and get rid of this silly grin

Are these the native ladies that are something else, or imports from Eastern Europe? Just curious, like, before I decide where I am going on holiday......

These are definitely the natives, and boy are they friendly ! *
