I bought a dimarzio pickup and I am unsure which wires to solder where:

The black and white are soldered together, the red is soldered to the toggle switch (is this the "Hot"?), and the green and bare go to the ground ... but how? Are they soldered together, seperately on the top of the pot, soldered on one of the three post things, a combination of one of these...?

Additional info: I am soldering this humbucker in series with the other one.

Thanks.

Directions state to solder the bare wire to the ground, making sure it doesn't come in contact with other connections. Do I still solder the green and bare wire together?

Also, is it possible to DAMAGE a pickup while soldering? At first I was using a soldering gun then read on the web that it could damage the magnets and shit?! Because it seems like I soldered everything correctly...

When I installed a Dimarzio into my mates Ax it all went pretty smooth following the supplied instructions. I think we may have checked their website for a touch more info too.
That was my first pickup installation and the guitars still works fine....
