Currently I´m working on a deathcore style mix with inhale screaming.
Let me know if you have some tips for improvement.

Listen here.

that´s what i was expecting. the bass was pretty cheap and i am really struggling with it to be heard at all. maybe i shouldn´t care too much and just make it feel....

The kick itself is 'more or less' fine. You might wanna slot the bass and kick together better. Get that bass to fill up the lower end with more clarity. The song's really missing the groove. Ask the bassist to re-track with a better gear if possible. Something doesn't seem right with the mids of the vocals. I wouldn't wanna comment on the guitars. Just got done with a session here and my perception's all messed up

Hello,

Over all to my ear there is too much midrange in the entire mix compared to the bottom end, easy to fix in mastering but it will effect the sound.
What I found worked was a linear phase eq with a low shelf set at round 300Hz but boost by 5db to 'push' the higher mids down.
(I found if I eq'ed the mids to tame them it killed the guitar tone which I like)
followed by a gentle dip at 750Hz by 1.5db (to Taste) medium Q,
a high shelf set at round 2KHz boost by up to 2db max,
a gentle low pass at 10KHz and an aggressive high pass at 55Hz.
I also noticed a rouge frequency round 100Hz and 180Hz.

By doing this I found it gave the drums more depth and made the bass gat more in place but didnt change the feel you have going.
The over all balance of the mix is great and I love the track!
Cheers.

the clip you posted is a whole lot too boomy but i see if can fix some mids in mastering.

thanks for your input.

I did that on headphones and over did the bottom end a little sorry.:erk: Just felt there was to much of a mid range hump round 750Hz mainly from guitars. hope it helped.
Cheers.

dual rectifier into mesa std 4x12" miked with ev re 20 and sm 57. pretty "standard" except the re 20 which i like very much for the bite.

The gang vocals are horrible and not tight enough imo
Kick is fine, not boomy at all here!
Snare sounds really cool
Bass could fill out the low end a bit more, or you give the guitars a bit more low end instead (maybe with a multibandcomp?)
vocals also sound a bit thin wiith too much vocus on the mids
he sounds a bit like triviums vocalist when screaming/growling

update:
uploaded another song clip here.
gave the bass a little more bottom end (although it didn´t have any...;-)) and fixed some small thing in mastering stage.
