Can I do this?

Uh...yes. This is a main point of getting a HotPlate. It has a "Line" output. Basically any power attentuator's job (when using it this way) is to send a dummy load to the amp, which protects your output transformers from exploding, as well as everything else.

Also check out Weber attentuators, I'm getting the MEGA DUMP, great price, plus it handles 4ohms, 8ohms, and 16ohms. As opposed to the THD Hotplate that only does one impedance per unit. So in order to get the same versatility, you'd have to buy three HotPlates (4, 8, and 16 ohms), costing $900+. When the MEGA DUMP handles all three, for $175.

I will be using the MEGA DUMP two ways. One is to have cranked guitar tone at lower volumes. And the other so that I can run heads directly out to the board and use speaker impulses on them. :headbang:
