Can we finally and offically call this band dead?!

Can FINALLY say this band has some promise once again. After the huge success of the reunion tour with Joey, I couldn't believe they would ever think about getting rid of him again. But they did and everything went to shit.

It's obvious they ran out of front men and had to bring Joey back. It was either that or just quit. Scott Ian has been quite vocal about how he doesn't like Joey's voice. This should be interesting to see if they can co-exist.

None the less the band with Joey is how it should be. The big 4 shows needed to have Joey on vocals. Anthrax now has a chance to get back out there and contend with the other old school thrash bands.

I am excited as hell to see Anthrax perform again with Joey. Those albums he was on are some of the best in history of metal. If you deny that you are fucked in the head. :headbang:

Yeah the massive shows in sold-out arenas, lear jets winging them around the world, massive TV coverage, the cover of "Tiger Beat" magazine! Success indeed.

Dude, they were playing the same places with Bush (clubs & small venues, and some festivals). Not to mention they were opening for Dio & others! I don't recall the Anthrology or Alive disc burning up the charts either. Think about it.

"reality" is that Anthrax sold out almost every show with Joey. I was in LA when they sold out the Avalon which is a fairly large venue. Was insane. Was the biggest pit I have ever seen in 30 years of going to extreme metal shows. There was a very strong vibe in there.

All the kids that weren't around when Joey was in the band just can't understand the difference. Thats fine. You had your time. Anthrax will always be known for the Joey albums. That was their prime. That was ANTHRASH. That was the stadium tours.

Now they have a chance to get back to where they left off after POT.

This band is alive again!! I was bummed when the reunion ended without an album. Then I was interested to see what Dan would bring to the table. Then when I heard Bush was coming back I was all set.

I am totally stoked that Joey is back in the band. This IS Anthrax...

Now the rest of the band just needs to give him some fashion tips ;o)

Perhaps you should listen to POT instead of smoking it. Large venue? I thought Maiden fans are used to far bigger ones, but i guess you don't like them anymore since Paul Di'Anno left the band.

Well, the new songs surely have that old school sound. The weak guitar tone of the recent albums is gone.

The old sound was only highs, the new one is much fatter. Its a matter of taste i suppose, but calling the new sound weak is just ignorant.

No, we can finally say that Anthrax is back in fucking action with the right man behind the mic! No disrepect to Bush, a great vocalist for sure, but there's only one man for Anthrax and that's Joey! Just like with VH, it's great to enjoy all eras, but DLR deserves to be there, it's simply his place.

POT smokes anything they have done with Bush. Even Joey's voice on POT isn't as high and 'girly' as some would say. POT is perfect. I still never got why they would make a change (for the worst imho) after that album. They just got done doing huge shows with Maiden, and Clash of the Titans with Slayer and Megadeth. They were at the top of their game and then have slowly gone to shit ever since Joey was gone. The band lost it's identity. I like John Bush, just not in Anthrax. The vibe of the band was different, for the most part the old school fans that were into the Joey era fell off and the band ended up playing to small clubs while other bands like Slayer, Pantera etc continued to play huge venues and keep metal alive.

hmmm...perhaps they weren't as BIG with Joey as it seems...they just happened to play great package tours...1986 they supported Black Sabbath in the US and got to play big halls, 1987 they opened for Metallica (at least in Europe), 1988 for Ozzy...then Iron Maiden, Clash of The Titans-tour (only in the US - in Europe we had Suicidal, Testament, Slayer, Megadeth package) + Public Enemy thing...all big tours with or without Anthrax.
