Can you cancel a reverb ?

Just a simple technical question here;

You have a choir.wav and hear the natural reverb of the room/hall/whatever.
You also have the impulse.wav of that place.

Is it cancelable and if so, to the point of getting a very dry choir ?
Not talking about canceling a reverb that was added afterwards!

SPL's De Verb does the job pretty well. could also just automate the tails to be shorter.

Izotope RX3 will remove reverb from recordings as well, but only the advanced version.
