CARCASS will play their only UK date headlining Damnation Festival 2008.
The death metal legends will perform their first show on home soil in 14 years on Saturday, November 22 at Leeds University.
And the band yesterday hinted it could be the last show they ever play, wrapping up a successful reunion tour headlining some of the biggest metal stages across the globe.

Front man Jeff Walker, said: "Well, we enjoyed making you sweat... this is gonna be the ONLY UK show this year, and quite possibly your last chance to EVER catch us live!
"You Southerners are gonna have to get your shoes dirty and make your way 'oop' North to Leeds!
"To quote Herschell Gordon Lewis 'Prepare To Die!'"

Damnation Festival director Gavin McInally added: "The exclusive booking of Carcass is the biggest coup in British metal in 2008 and we're delighted to host their return to home soil.
"The fact that it could be the last time they ever take the stage together, makes the prospect of seeing them headline Damnation even more special.
"After a 14-year break, it's almost impossible to predict just how large the demands for tickets will be, so without the cheesy sales pitch, pawn your wedding ring or steal from close friends - just make sure you grab a brief!
"And stayed tuned for further announcements as the finest, doom, grind, black, rock and heavy metal completes what will be the finest day of music the UK will witness in 2008."

Tickets for Damnation will go on sale this Friday, June 27 at 9am - with briefs priced at £29 (subject to booking fee).
Available from http://www.leedstickets.com/, http://www.seetickets.com/ and http://www.ticketline.co.uk/
Look out for details of tickets going on sale in record stores and shops in and around Leeds in the near future.

AVANT-GARDE Japanese black metallers SIGH will play their first UK show in 13 years during an exclusive performance at Damnation Festival.
It will be the first time the entire line-up has ever played on British soil and they have promised to put a special show together for their patient fans.
They will be joined by Aussie grind masters THE BERZERKER and Welsh sludge rockers TAINT on the bill with the legendary Carcass.

Vocalist Mirai Kawashima, said: "We're extremely excited to play at the Damnation Festival!
"The last time we toured the UK was in 1995 so it's been 13 years!
"Back then we were a three-piece band so this is going to be the UK debut for Mikannibal and our drummer, Junichi.
"Get ready for the Eastern forces of Evil!"

Damnation Festival director Gavin McInally added: "To host not one but two bands who haven't graced our shores in over a decade is something truly special.
"We're also delighted to add brutal death metallers The Berzerker, and one of Britain's finest emerging talents in Taint."

Tickets for Damnation will go on sale TOMORROW, June 27 at 9am - priced at £29 (subject to booking fee).

UK thrash titans ONSLAUGHT and death metal legends BENEDICTION will bolster the sterling line-up at Damnation Festival 2008 as the event is increased to a full THREE-STAGE, 3,500 capacity highlight on the metal calendar.

Rock Sound magazine will sponsor the third stage with rising post-metal talent *SHELS, LATITUDES and doom merchants RAMESSES taking the stage, with more to be announced.

The new additions will join a stunning UK bill that already includes the long-awaited return of CARCASS, as well as MY DYING BRIDE, NAPALM DEATH, PITCHSHIFTER and SIGH.

Festival director Gavin McInally said: "With more tickets sold for this year's Damnation Festival in the first month than we managed in the whole of last year it was a simple choice; lock out the fans, or take the plunge and add the huge 2,000 capacity Refectory.

"Damnation Festival will now host three stages rammed with talent and we're delighted to welcome Rock Sound on board as our newest partners - they've been at the forefront of breaking bands for over a decade, and we pride ourselves on doing the same!

"We promised to host the UK's finest bill of metal in 2008 and with the addition of legendary UK acts like Onslaught and Benediction, we're definitely one step closer.

"Tickets are flying out the door at only £29 each, so make sure you get a brief whatever it takes!"

Following a sell out of the first batch of tickets, the remainder of tickets for Damnation Festival are now on sale, available from http://www.leedstickets.com/ , http://www.ticketline.co.uk/ and http://www.seetickets.co.uk/
Tickets are also on sale in Leeds at stores including Crash and Jumbo.

UK doom stalwarts CATHEDRAL are the third and final DAMNATION FESTIVAL 2008 headliner, topping the hugely diverse Rock Sound Stage.

They will be joined by progressive metallers DEVIL SOLD HIS SOUL and THE MIRIMAR DISASTER on the stunning bill in Leeds University.

"With Devil Sold His Soul and The Mirimar Disaster joining the bill, Damnation Festival will be the most varied and exciting metal event of the year."

He added: "In the following months we'll announce the unsigned Terrorizer Stage openers, which will be voted on by fans themselves as part of a cover-mount CD competition in this month's Terrorizer magazine."

Got my ticket!!!
Only thing now is which headliner to watch....
Carcass, Pitchshifter or Cathedral???
Any ideas?
I have seen Cathedral before when they supported Cradle of Filth in Leeds so I guess I can eliminate them...

THEY'RE COMING TO FLORIDA WITH SUFFOCATION & NECROPHAGIST & I CAN'T FUICKING GO!!! Well, I can go, but it's a 2 hour drive & I won't be able to get anyone to go with me. Seems like too much work to go. Also, I know I will get shitty drunk & a 2 hour drive back late as fuck is beyond risky, especially on those highways.

Pitchshifter suck, Cathedral are alright. Carcass own, and I believe it's meant to be the last gig they are ever playing so..

DAMNATION FESTIVAL 2008 will boast record ticket sales - even if the event doesn't sell another brief!

With the exclusive UK return of CARCASS and SIGH - as well as the exciting captures of MY DYING BRIDE, PITCHSHIFTER and NAPALM DEATH - to blame, organisers have seen their finest lineup to date cause a stampede for tickets.

Festival director Gavin McInally said: "We're delighted to announce that 2000 tickets are now gone! Never before in our three-year history have we sold as many tickets - not even with huge on-the-door sales!
"The move to the amazing 3500 capacity Leeds University has allowed for the addition of our exciting Rock Sound stage and of course, the exclusive UK capture of Carcass in what may be their last ever show.
"We believe that Damnation Festival 2008 is the best and most diverse lineup we've ever hosted, and fan feedback and ticket sales certainly suggest UK metal fans agree.
"This event truly is, and forever will be, 'by the fans, for the fans'
"There's still a way to go before we sell out tickets but at this point I'd certainly suggest stepping over your own gran just to nab one!"

Damnation Festival 2008 has now sold out.
More than 3,500 fans will descend from quite literally across the globe for the UK's finest metal event of the year.

For the first time in it's four year history Damnation Festival has sold out in advance. The unprecedented rush for tickets has been due to massive coups such as the exclusive UK return of Carcass and Sigh, a rare My Dying Bride performance and loads more British talent in the form of Pitchshifter, Napalm Death and Cathedral.

Festival director Gavin McInally said: "Thank you. Seriously."

Doors will open at 4.30pm, the first bands will take the stage at 5pm and fans are reminded that once a venue is full, in the interests of health and safety, no further fans will be able to gain access - so make sure you get there early.

The Jagermeister Stage is 2,100 capacity, Terrorizer (1,000) and Rock Sound (500).
