Once I asked about Katatonia in a shop in Denmark, the guy behind the desk told me there where no such thing, he complained and kept on saying they were spelled with a "C", because this looser couldn't find Katatonia in his Computer he thought they didn't exist

Around here, when I tell people that Katatonia is one of my favorite bands, they mostly say something like "That band with the stupid woman in it?" and I'm getting sick of this... Now when they ask me for my favorite bands I say something like "Anathema, Katatonia with a K (!!!), Opeth, Antimatter, etc."

When I tell people around here the names of my favorite bands, they think I'm crazy because they've never heard of any of them. Shows what a little town I live in...Opeth is pretty well known in most places.

I remember when I was ordering some Katatonia online from college, one of my college-"mates" was being nosey and asked what I was doing. "Buying a Katatonia CD," I said, and he thought I was going soft and buying that Welsh bint's album. Tit. Samn happened with my family.

In 1999 Catatonia played on Midtfyns Festival in Denmark, and one of my friends (who knows I'm into Katatonia but didn't know they were spelled with a "K") said to me"Katatonia are playing this years festival" and I went nuts until I realized it was that stupid Welsh band who had a OneHitWonder that time ( I think it was called something stupid like "mulder and scully, don't ask me how the F*** I can still remember that shitty song)... that was quite a shitty experience.......but hey! I got drunk and goddamn if I didn't see Catatonia play a week later (please don't tease me too much

The only reason I've ever heard of Catatonia is because I just happened to notice their CD when I was looking around for a Cannibal Corpse album. Other than that, and this particular thread, I've never heard them mentioned, nor have I heard their stuff (and judging myself lucky from the sounds of it
