CD/DVD Storage?

What do you use for CD and DVD storage? I'm in need of something new - for Christmas I got a wooden one from Best Buy with adjustable shelves. All but one of the shelves are short (and it doesn't seem like it's just mine, as all the reviews say the same), so whenever I'm trying to put my CDs on there, it collapses on me. And it's not like I'm overloading it - even one CD on certain shelves make it fall, and creates a Domino Effect on the others.

So, I'm sort of looking for something with shelves that are part of the item itself so they won't come falling down on me. What do you use?

I use ones with adjustable shelves and have had no issues, the key is just buying reliable ones instead of the cheaper ones.

If you're looking for something well-made that will last a long time, check out the steel shelving units at boltz.com. They sell several types and capacities of CD, DVD, and general media storage, as well as all kinds of stylish metal furniture. I've been using my cd shelves from them for a few years now, and there's no sign of sagging, wear, or any kind of damage whatsoever.

About 2 years ago I bought a couple of wire racks for $20 each at Circuit City:

(Looks like CC isn't selling these anymore - This site is charging $104 for these! My guess these are discontinued and are now hard to come by.)

For my off-line storage (stuff I want to keep but don't listen to), I use special cardboard boxes I bought at Bags Unlimited:

I take out the dividers and I get about 40 CDs per box.

I use 90-CD plastic storage units from Laserline, which cost about $10 each. Theoretically you could mount them on the wall, but I just stack them horizontally in my dining room under the counter. There are sixteen units (trays? crates?) there. On the counter above, are the myriad CDs that I need to eventually file in alphabetical order into the storage units. Someday. Eventually. Yeah, uh-huh.

And then......most of my 'serious' metal CDs for WREKage (radio show) 'live' in three overstuffed 240-capacity CD books that I haul down to the studio each week, along with a box of cardboard sleeve promos and miscellaneous stuff in a duffel bag. The things we do for metal! :headbang: (it's gotta be 50 lbs of CDs easy.)
