I agree with you about Agalloch, and want to thank you for the recommendation. Although at first, I didn't enjoy or "get it" after numerous listenings, it continues to get better.
It is to me, now, better than in absentia, but not because either band is better, but moreso because Agalloch's music is heavier, and their style is more fitting to me, personally. I consider PT's in absentia an excellent cd, as so do you, but again...Agalloch's ~ The Mantle fucking rocks.
At first it seemed too slow, not sung well, simple, not much going on, somewhat boring...now take all those descriptions away and add the opposites.
