It just seems lame. I don't know how to explain it. Anthrax to me used to be more accessable? Down to earth? The anti-rockstar crap? The CDC just seems not them or at least not my perception of them.

I signed up for it months ago. I really only signed up for the shirt. So when I get it I'll be a happy little camper. Unless they start selling the CDC shirts like at online stores and stuff, then I'd be a pissed little camper.
Well, I think the "A band by the people for the people" slogan went right through the wondow when the CDC opened.
I ain't joining, first because I don't have a credit card and I don't really want to have a credit card, and secondly because I'm a cheap bastard. I like my freebies.
However, the CDC is prolly the best way to directly support the band because I am guessing it's got nothing to do with the record companies, and so I'll maybe consider it at some point. But not now 'cause I'm still feeling like a cheap bastard.
BTW, anyone noticed the "we will cometh for you all again" or something that Charlie wrote at the end of his post? Is that a hint of JB&RC coming back?

does anybody care if Rob comes back? fuck yea man! I think he's a great influence on the songwriting and he definetely has a wicked stage presence... I much prefer him over spitz, no offense to him, but I just prefer Rob

couldn't you meet the band anyway at shows? there have been reports by pissed CDC members who never got to meet the band.

I talked to some Anthrax members twice and it was a nice "bartalk" not a "pay-for-talk".
The only reasons for me to join the cdc would be:
- get special limited fanclub-CDs and gifts (wallpapers, shirts, posters, etc.)
- get tickets for small club-gigs for cdc-members only
As long as Joey sings, I wont join anyway (<---this shouldn't start another Joey/John discussion, PLEASE! Just my opinion)

I am not sure if I want to join. I was in the Metclub for a while, and it was good. The t shirts were one of a kind "member only" shirts, and I got access to alot of things before they were announced to the public, or even done for anyone else. It has its advantages. At the same time, I dont like the idea of "better treatment" of a fan because of it. Not saying Anthrax does that, not at all. But doesnt it seem unfair that someone who shelled out $25 and has only been a fan for like at best 4 years get special treatment over some of us who have been fans since 1987? As for the Blast Beat, I liked the plug and the "cometh" comment. I wish I could see that guitar design too. Anyway it goes, anything new from Anthrax is good. Hell, they could hire Gwen Steffani and I would still be a fan.....
I joined because I wanted the shirt and I thought there would be cool bootleg recordings to download in the "exclusives" section. So far nothing. I don't even think the band has posted on the CDC boards. As it stands right now the CDC is pretty pathetic.
