A juxtaposition between the old Norse Black Metal style, and the more minimalistic approach of more recent bands.
Burzum, Hate Forest, Summoning, Darkthrone, Destroyer 666, Von and Moonblood are some reference points, but it is quite apparent that Charnel Valley's loose approach, raw recording, attitude and thoughtful compositions differentiate them from their peers.

the original Rigor Sardonicous line-up of Joseph J. Fogarazzo and Glenn Hampton has joined forces with former Evoken bassist Steve Moran to re-record this unspoken DOOM classic, originally released in 1999
The essence of compromise does not exist herein. This is Slow, Cold, Torturous Doom at its absolute heaviest and darkest. Rigor Sardonicous once again attacks the underground in a force that leaves little else standing.
Once again, only for truest of DOOM enthusiasts.
