Chicago: Reggies Rock Club?

I think it's cool that Pearl Room gives some unknown bands a chance, though it comes at a price.

There have been gigs there with only semi-popular headliners, and they filled the lineup with not-so-known locals. The end result is a not-so-packed show.

The venue does have a warehouse feel. I certainly don't feel I am anywhere special or anywhere that has any history to it, like when you go to the Aragon, Riv, or Metro. I don't mean to dismiss it, just because it is new.

As far as the location goes, what can be said. It is where it is. Though I have definitely passed on a TON of shows, esp on the weekdays, due to the location.

5. 95% of the openers at Pearl Room are awful. The troubles you and your band encounter while trying to land gigs elsewhere doesn't change that fact. Easily the best local opener I've seen there is Mindwarp Chamber. They should open every metal show there.

Wow thanks for the kind words but I dont think I could afford the gas money to play there every show

Seriously whenever we played at PR if it was a weekday I had to take off of work to get there for the 3PM load in and wait till whenever the other bands are done to see if you get a soundcheck.

I'm really looking forward to these new venues, lets hope the booking agents there try to bring in some metal acts. Joes on Weed st used to get nationals but that doesnt happen anymore.
