Right, I've been looking at various routes to drive from Chicago to the fest and it looks like its going to be a super boring drive for 20 hours, not including biological induced stops.

They added a walking option on Google maps. So if I decided to walk it would take 16 days and 14 hours, pretty sweet.

I already consulted with the mighty beermapping project our choices are limited down in SA. But I will be stopping off at the local liquor stores for lots of Shiner Black Lager.

Amber knows me for the microbrew geek that I am. I was looking for a brew pub near the venue, I'm sure I'll have no problems finding some good brews just looking for some gems that I cant get back home.

Yeah, you and Danowar should open your own micro-Brewery.

I'm not much for the dark beers or the ones that have the after-taste of a tree. ;)
I love my "diet beer"...low carb, low calorie, low flavor!
Ha Ha!

If you are a beer drinker a local spot that doesn’t show up on the tourist maps is the Menger Bar in the Menger Hotel, directly to the right of the Alamo.

The bar is a replica of the House of Lords Pub in London and was built in the late 1800’s. Teddy Roosevelt recruited the Roughriders from this bar to fight in the Spanish-American war.

You’ll probably find some interesting Shiner beers that are only available in Texas at the local bars.

Don’t know if you’ll have the time, but the Shiner tour is really cool. The town of shiner is about a 90 miles from San Antonio.

I assume that u have had KC's own Boulevard Wheat and Pale Ale before, but just in case I am bring some of each and maybe some of the others as well.

I have not had the pleasure of having anything from that brewery, just looked it up at beeradvocate looks like they have a nice collection of brews. I'll try to grab some Goose Islands brews.

Amber you know that Guinness is only 125 calories per 12oz.

Liam thanks for the heads up, if we have time I would love to head over to there and do the tour. I hear the town is pretty cool too.

Ah, Goose Island! It's so nice to be able to have it again.

Oh, hi! I'm Shreddy's partner in crime with beer. It's gonna be an interesting drive down to SA! Maybe we can piss on the Alamo like Ozzy did. :muahaha:

I will try and bring some of the best micro brewed beer, that is unknow to anyone outside of New Mexico, it's called ROSWELL ALIEN ALE, and man is it good. Just hope the little store that i get it at in NM has a case or two.

I dont know about thats Ozzy's done lots of things that I would want to have no part in, such as SHARON. LOL

Ah, Sharon. Forever will she burn in hell for her most grievous of sins...complete disrespect for Iron Maiden at the 2005 Ozzfest. But, man was it complete and utter vindication when HALF the crowd of 40,000+ immediately left after Maiden's performance and Sabbath hit the stage. But I digress...

Look forward to new, exciting brews!

Shreddy what's up man!

Hey if you happen to go through Dallas, you might stop off at Arlington's "Moore Memorial Gardens" cemetary and visit Dimebag's grave site. Drop a guitar pick on his grave and give him the metal horn salute. That might help the trip from not being so boring bro!

Cheers,

Bobby W

Are you gonna drive through Austin, TX? I looked at google maps and it's probably the most direct way to go. I really need a ride! And if you wanna take a beer pit stop there fine with me!! I will ride in the trunk if I have to :)
