Nuclear Blast

Nuclear Blast Records is a German record and mailorder company. It was founded in 1987 by Markus Staiger.

Children Of Bodom signed a license deal at the end of 1997. The band was "discovered" by one of Nuclear Blast's staff members at a gig in
December 1997, who offered the band and Spinefarm a licensing deal to release their debut album SOMETHING WILD in Europe. Children Of
Bodom still had a contract with Spinefarm, but Nuclear Blast had earned rights to release their albums outside of Finland. By the end of
the '90s, Nuclear Blast was renowned for releasing lots of Black/Death Metal albums by Scandinavian bands; Children Of Bodom became one
of them.

Nuclear Blast's big marketing campaigns, great distribution, and their Nuclear Blast festival tours in 1998 helped Children Of Bodom to become
one of their biggest bands.

After Children Of Bodom's three-album contract with Nuclear Blast ran out in 2002 and Spinefarm was bought by Universal, the band decided to
stay with Spinefarm and get their future albums released by Universal. After the band and Nuclear Blast parted ways, the German record
company re-released the first three Children Of Bodom albums as Deluxe Editions.
