this was a bitch to mix.. the quality on the youtube version isnt the best so it does sound a little glitchy in some parts.. which i think was down to the video editor.. if that gets on your nerves then there is a download link to an mp3 version in the video description

i am asking for opinions on the mix not the playing.. i do understand that my left hand is prety much redundant for this cover, im sure the youtube community will remind me of this endlessely but hopefuly you guys are different! :P

Yeah that's pretty much all your gonna get, if at all. It's sad honestly. Unless these guys love sucking your dick then you can't expect nothing but a shit load of views and very few comments. If you want REAL advice when it comes to mixing head over to Home Recording Forum's "bash this" section. Plenty of top engineers willing to critique your mixes. And everyone is really respectful and knowledgeable. Plus the guy that runs it, Brandon Drury, is nothing short of a genius considering he wrote the Killer Home Recording series.

try out the 'rock classic' bass amp in Pod Farm, with a Bass Overdrive before it. not sure if it's in a expansion pack, i've only got the metal one

In another thread from you, foundations, I posted a little blurb about grindy bass tones. For a modern, grindy tone, you don't need a whole lot to get there, but the key is to get a good tone out of your bass before you start doing anything to it. An example of a recent bass tone I made only pod farm and the metal shop expansion is here: http://bit.ly/yP2Ky4 not even close to the best bass tone on earth, but maybe something like this is what you're looking for.

cheers for the help man.. i cant realy hear a lot of bass in that song you linked though.... im so lost trying to sort out my bass tone :/

EDIT: here's some info on my bass tone, as requested.

Here's my whole tone from the previous mix I posted: http://bit.ly/AdpiCM Now, this is made up of 3 separate tracks - the DI itself (http://bit.ly/xCuUpP), a track running a sansamp pedal (http://bit.ly/AsBJTk) (http://i.imgur.com/pUzf6.jpg), for low-end punch and a track running a 5150 (http://bit.ly/wKzAQk), (http://i.imgur.com/FiOVy.jpg) for mids and high-end. The DI is a good example of what a good bass DI should sound like, nice and clanky, at least for the clanky sort of bass tone.
