Chrome or Nickel hardware?

I'm looking forward to buy a Gibson Les Paul CLASSIC but then I noticed
it had nickel hardware.

I want to know whcih of the two materials (chrome or
nickel) is more corrosion resistant and will last longer without any
stains or whatever.

I've never seen nickel finished hardware, just chrome or black.

Personally, I tend to go with Nickel because if a chrome job isn't done well, it's quite possible that the finish will flake off. To me nickel looks comparable to chrome and in my experience, lasts longer.

I usually don't bother with the time and playing 'ruining' the guitar.

I mean, there's people who spend a LOT of money buying replicas of famous guitars corroded in the building process as they were used for twenty years.

I think that the decaying of hardware and body as long it doesn't break give the character to a guitar.
When it's new it's shiny, when it's a lot of time that you are playing it, some minor damage will occur anyway and it will become YOUR guitar.

That's my 20 cents on this matter.
