Chuck Billy BY FAR....

I'm sorry, but I could never get into Steve Souza's voice. It's not nessesarily BAD sounding, but idunno.....There's just something about it i can't get into.

I'm currently listening to the new EXODUS, and I can say the music is incredible, but the vocals just don't hit me.....especially during the groove parts, the vocals REALLY don't fit, but maybe I just don't like groove. idunno....

Also, "First strike still deadly" is a great CD, but again.....Souza's vocals just don't cut it. Chuck's vocals really fit with Testament for ALL era's the band has evolved through. Souza's vocals fit better with Exodus, but I still can't seem to grasp them for some reasons.....

.....discuss.....

I personally think Steve Souza is fucking brilliant, and his performance on Tempo Of The Damned is probably the best singing he has ever done, it fits perfectly and I don't think it can be faulted at all.

(Me on the right) :D

Zetro's a really good (if not great) Thrash singer, but c'mon...comparing him to the mighty Chuck is almost... unfair. Chuck could sing practically everything- he has an amazing range and knows how to use it. Chuck all the way- no doubt for me

Just the title of this thread alone is deserving of a ban. :err:

The only other things powerfull enough to compare Chuck to are...

Chuck vs. The morning-after-pill
Chuck vs. Electricity
Chuck vs. Beer
Chuck vs. a Gravity Bong
Chuck vs. an M1A1 Abram's Tank
Chuck vs. Nintendo
Chuck vs. a tornado
Chuck vs. Steroids
Chuck vs. Taxes

I go with souza's vocals... He just can sing extremely fast and I like his voice a lot... I never really got into chuck's death metal growls that much... I like it when he does, but the album demonic... didn't like it much.

Well, these are my two favorite bands...........Chuck Billy then Souza (isn't there a tequila named after Steve? lol) I immediately dug the new Exodus cd.....I think Souza's voice totally fits the mood......my husband doesn't really like Steve's voice...but we all have our own feelings....this is the first time that I've read anything about Souza not sounding good. I think he's right where he needs to be.

We all love Chuck though.

Never cared for Alone in the Dark, either with Billy or Souza, but Steve's version of Reign of Terror on First Strike Still Deadly is excellent. Steve's screams of "NEVER!" on Forward March are pretty cool, too...But his trademark "Nyukk, Nyukk" voice makes for a more 'lighthearted' sound. (if that makes any sense)

I like metal throat more on the dark, cold, and imposing side, which is why on the whole, I prefer Chuck Billy's vox.

We all know that Chuck would defeat all of those. I think we all know that the SCES (Super Chuck Entertainment System) would totally blow away the SNES. Think the president's the most powerful man in the country? Think again!

I like Chuck's voice better than Souza's. Souza's voice is just too nasal, although it is really cool in "Reign of Terror." I really love his voice in the middle part of the song, just before the solo.

i definitely prefer Chuck to Steve.... its just as simple as that.
i really seem to have gone off exodus now.... i love their older stuff, but shit man i think that the new stuff is way too produced and boring!! i mean its way thrashy but it just doesn't sound old school and raw anymore.
when i saw them live they just didn't sound good either because of the mix...
i dunno... i'm a bit fussy with my thrashmetal....

Testament are sooo fucking cool! \m/
