I like Savatage, and I like Zack, but I feel the same. The reason that first album is so great is because he wrote it with Jon Oliva and Chris Caffery (I believe), and it featured all of the original Jon Oliva's Pain.

I personally like all of their stuff, except the last one. Delusions of Grandeur suffered from poor mix and production but the songwriting was still there. The last one was mediocre all around. I think they can rebound with the new one. *fingers crossed*

I thought the last album was great actually.
As much as I love Savatage, I always kind of feel bad for the other members in the live setting, since they write an album, and go tour and play a setlist that is 80% Savatage material.

I mean, I know Zak is giving the fans what they want, but its not like the CIIC originals are chopped liver..

sounds too much of the same which has plagued the band lately. the first 3 albums were great, but it has been downhill since

Yeah, I really really want to like this band because I do love Zach's voice and his Savatage material so much. Hopefully this new album will be the one that wons me over.

From http://www.bravewords.com/news/196439 :

earMUSIC will release Seasons Will Fall, the sixth studio album by American heavy metal band CIRCLE II CIRCLE, which marks the full-time return of former SAVATAGE lead singer Zak Stevens to the heavy metal scene. The album will be released on January 25th. A new teaser featuring the lead-off track 'Diamond Blade' can be streamed on YouTube below:

In this day and age I don't get releasing just a sample of a song... What are they afraid of? What could CircleIICircle possibly lose by releasing a whole song in advance?

I am looking forward to it, though.

Agreed. You can't get much from a song with just a sample. I also hate the album teasers where they do a video with snippits of all the songs. I'd rather hear one or two of their strongest songs and make my judgement from that.

As I said above, I like CIIC lots, and I think Zak is a REALLY great guy....
He was one of the first former SAVATAGE members to give GITR his blessing when we first started, and even invited us to jam with them on stage.

It's a shame, given how talented a band he always puts together, that he uses a new release to basically support going out to tour and play SAVATAGE material.

Seriously, I think when I saw them a couple years back they literally did 4 CIIC tunes and the rest SAVATAGE.

Now I know many would say, "Hey, that's fine by me" but its not like CIIC material is chopped liver.

I wish they would support their own work efforts a bit more since it is good and deserves to be heard.

I pre-ordered mine last week via Amazon. From the clips, it sounds like it's going to be a good album. It sounds like the keys are coming back in more, which is good!

I do agree with Jason. I'd like for CIIC to support their own material more and cut back on covering so much Savatage.
