CISPA Bill Passed in the USA

Still has to pass Senate and be signed into law (which Obama has said he wouldn't do). Does nobody understand the legislative process anymore?

To be honest I don't because I'm not american, and tbh-part 2 I'm not 100% confident about how it's even done in my country.

Could you explain in a nutshell ?

This election campaign is going to be brutal.

I don't think it's going to be brutal. I see Obama almost certainly winning.

I'm not an American, but all things considered and for the sake of the world, I'd much rather see Ron Paul win than Obamney.

The Obama administration said they'd veto it.

They said they'd veto it if it remains in its current form. So it was modified (in a way it was made a little better, and in another worse), and so now it's not very clear whether the white house will veto it or not.

Or it might be the democrats pulling said electoral stunt, that wouldn't surprise me either.

One thing's for sure though, these bills are just a start. Right now, if some disaster hits the world, be it the North Korean regime failing and nuking the South in the process, the Iran situation exploding, some other 9/11, or whatever, it will almost definitely lead to the USA government using it as an excuse to grow even bigger into a world police state with much less freedoms and more control, especially over the internet. Of course it will all be nicely dressed in political correctness of the "it's all for your protection" kind.

Power is like fire. It always seeks to test its limits and expand whenever possible. Some real principled wisdom is needed in the commander in chief, more so now than ever before. I'm afraid we all depend on regular Americans waking up.

I agree with this post so much I feel that it's necessary to take up extra forum space just to quote it.
