I know its no Engl, but that tone was so crushing that I had to f*ck around with my own tone.

You think either of these tones sound good (no post processing at all)?
They are quite different from each other.

Sounds good to me.. could use some processing though, but like you said, these are recorded dry, right?

I like the first one better.. more presence, more high EQ in em.. sounds more agressive as well.

I agree with Bob, GT2.mp3 is the better of the two. I'd go for a tad less gain though personally but that is def. subjective. Now throw some C4 and EQ on it and toss it in a mix!

I totally thought most of you would prefer GT1.

Do you have any specific processing suggestions?

Use the waves plugin's

C4 bandwidth compressor (use andy's preset as a starting point)
REQ6 6 band eq (anyone wanna help him here? Not got a Pod myself)

I kept both sounds... decided to overlay them.

HERE it is with more processing, some bass and drums.


(I've never heard the original Textures song, so dont blame me if the drumming is waaaaaaaaay off).

prizo.. i had new arch enemy on my winamp and then brought your tunes in.

the volume drop was VERY dramatic.


you need to either normalize or somewhat "master" (i know that is a very broad term to use) your clips.

GT1 seems more .. guttural.. but there are pops n clicks and such

again man.. always try to compare your stuff to the "real thing" first.. it really helps!
