Cky

Catchy disposable hard rock. Fairly decent, promising talent. They need a new singer and they need to stop trying to be so catchy.

New singer? Deron was one of the founding members of cky, they've only had one lineup change, and that was with bassists. If you can, I suggest you listen to some stuff by Foreign Objects, deron's old band (jess was also in it). The released a 5 track cd, one being an instrumental. Destination Undefined, The Other Side of the end of the universe, Far Cry Behind, and The Undiscovered numbers and colors, those are the songs you should check out.

They dont try to be catchy at all. isn't catchy a good thing? If I'm just sitting in class, and I have a riff or some shit stuck in my head, thats a good thing for that band.

Catchy is good in small doses, but if something is too catchy it becomes boring very quickly. That's exactly what happened with CKY, I got bored in under 1 week of their album, which was pretty irritating to say the least.

didnt they explain the song Plastic Plan to be their pop song against pop songs or something? Thats catchy... Most of their songs have catchy tunes, but they wear out very fast.

plastic plan is indeed a song against pop songs, but it was never meant to be a pop song. Its probably one of the least catchiest songs on the album.

And chad is a great producer. He's working on alot of stuff right now.

They're catchy alright! I saw an episode of Jackass where a song of theirs was featured and then downloaded some powertabs of theirs. When I played "96 Bitter beings" I said "That's it!". I think that's an alright song, but let's see if it stands the test of time.
I agree, though, that some catchiness can get annoying. When I played a record like Dimmu Borgir's "Enthrone darkness triumphant" the first time I said "Goddamn, that's superb!!". When I'd heard it around 10 times it was more or less getting tiresome. I still consider it to be among the best black metal albums I've ever heard, but I rarely listen to it.

that will always be one of my favorite songs..

these cky songs are pretty good too:

Disengage the Simulator
Attached at the hip
Escape from Hellview
Sporadic Movement.
