hey all, I've posted a rough clip of this before with other gear.

Tried a new cab this time and also bought a LEGIT sm57 from the shop (not the fake knock off I got off ebay last time :( :)

For some reason the track starts at 0:11

Track is panned to 1 side and I did 1 guitar take on the other side
How's it sound?

:)

I'm not mixing it.
The track was already complete and I just panned it hard 1 side, then 1 added a raw rhythm guitar track of my own on the other side.

I'm testing my amp mic'ing skills, not mixing the full track

Thanks for listening!

thanks for listening and for the feedback guys

Disconnekt - I've only hired this cab...think I might pick one up myself :)

Plankis - thanks mate, no boost was used, guitar was a gibson les paul standard with stock pickups (burstbuckers I think)

I did another quick take this morning with my V30 cab (framus dragon)

Here are quick 20sec clips of both cabs
Interested to know which sounds better to you guys?

1960a

1960a in my opinion. What was the amp eq/post processing EQ like? Did you mic straight on dustcap?

awesome tone man, i'm digging the 1960a as well.. any chance you could upload the short clips minus the backing track?

Cool! It might be the Gibson I'm digging then. As I find the Framus sounds pretty good too, although I think I prefer the 1960a. Do you own any other guitars? Would you mind a short clip with them?

yeah I'm liking the 1960a more too, very weird considering I've traditionally been a 1960a hater all my life.
Funny how tastes change.

mic placed about an inch back from the cloth and pretty much where the dustcap meets the cone.

no post processing at all, my guitar track is left exactly how it tracked.

amp eq was gain3, bass5, mid5, treb7, vol3, res5, pres7

I think there's something in the framus V30 mids that I don't like, can't put my finger on it. It still does sound good, just not as raw and aggressive as the 1960a though.

I have another gibbo but it's setup in C#
This is the only guitar I have properly setup for B

1960a clip has no processing? How did you manage to get it so smooth sounding? Every GT1275 speaker I've tried to work with sounds super sharp and brittle
