Not really. Height can tell you something about said user's personality/perception, or vice versa. They're generalizations for sure, but just like any other stereotype in this world they often hold some truth in them.
Also, we are on a message board here, talking to usernames, it doesn't hurt to have a mental image of people. We have a pics thread, but height is not always accurately conveyed in pictures. If you don't want to play though, my heart won't be that broken believe it or not.
^Mental images are actually a distraction and tend to suffocate your stream of true self-expression. We are talking to avatars here.
