Computer expert advices needed!

I'm currently doin' my music things on a iMac 3.06gHz with 4Go RAM and it's a fight when I work with many plugins, many tracks, and stuff… I'd like to get something more powerful. This stuff will be used for music production exclusively and must support large sessions with CPU eater plugins

I can throw 2500-3000€. So I'm looking at two main stuff:

- iMac i7 Quadcore 3.4gHz / 16Go RAM / SATA 1To / AMD Radeon HD6970M 2Go
- Mac Pro Quadcore 'Nehalem' 2.8gHz / 8Go RAM / SATA 1To / ATI Radon HD5770 1Go

Both cost about 2800€ (still have to get a monitor for the Mac Pro tho)
The iMac seems to be the winner but I'd like to have opinions and advices.

Definitely the iMac out of them two... nice display, better CPU, RAM and GPU... easy pick!

So expensive by the way, I have a hackintosh that cost me £700 and the specs are:

i5 2500k overclocked to 4Ghz / 8GB 1600MHz Corsair RAM / Radeon HD6870 / 2 x 500GB HD / Belkin Firewire PCI

Runs 20+ track songs in Logic with multiple plugins, no troubles. Just my input!

Yeah the iMac is def the best one. Hackintosh are cheaper but still don't sound as an option to me. Thanks for the advice tho
