Well, I want to know do these proxy servers actually mask your ip or do they allow you access to certain things even if your ip is banned.

There is this game a friend of mine plays and he was "sitebanned," meaning they banned his ip. He uses a program called Zmud to connect to it and he wants to know if he uses a proxy server would he be able to connect still since his ip wouldn't come up when he attempts to connect to the host.

Though there's some missing information here I'm going to go ahead and say that everything should most definitely be fine.

My old high school blocked all the proxy sites.

Make your own.

I'm fairly certain I get a new IP each time my modem turns off and back on.

She might. That's called a dynamic IP address and is pretty cool. But you need a static one to use a wireless connection iirc.

But you don't get a new a IP each time with dynamic either, usually you just reuse your old own if it is istill available.
