OK,so this is how I understand it: the Swedish team won the hockey. Then Mats Sundin chartered a jet and flew the team home on Sunday (before the closing of the games) in order for all the players (- the Sedins and Modin who had to be back for a game) could receive the love of the people before they all had to go back to the NHL, and wherever else they are playing, overseas. Nice thing to do, I thought... In Stockholm there were many people cheering in the street and the Swedish hockey federation decided to erect a stage to parade the players, give them flowers or whatever. On the backdrop was the logo of the sponsor of the team. The Swedish Olympic committee has now filed a law suit against the federation, wanting damages in the zillions, because the sponsor's logo was displayed publicly before the closing ceremonies. If they do not get damages, they have already petitioned the IOC to have the team stripped of the gold.
I haven't heard since - it made the front page in Svenska Dagbladet, DN and Expressen a few days ago. The on-line version from Thursday or Wed this week. I first heard it by word of mouth from my bro and mom. I'll ask if there's anything new, but I don't expect so, as lawsuits take time. Either way, what a bunch of bullcrap, huh?! It's not a joke or meant to be funny - they are actually serious.
