If anyone wants a non-metal break from the tournament thread :D I was going to post this last year but now that the forum is a bit more lively might be better-

Controlled Bleeding has been around since the late 70’s, and have done everything from harsh noise, gothic ambient, and electronic dub, to industrial dance and prog rock. Paul Lemos has been the main driving force throughout most of their history with the other two key members being Joe Papa and Chris Moriarty (both died in the late 2000’s). Here are some tracks from a few of their styles over the years:

First few tracks tie nicely into Jerry’s cacophony thread--definitely some harsh noise, but there is variation within -

Distressed Signals I (1984)

Knees & Bones (1985)

Core (1986) -this is about where they start to shift to other kinds of sounds

After this period they have a few compilations that cover their late 80's material

Songs from the drain (1987) –starting to shift into more gothic/darkwave

Music for Gilded Chambers (1988) --this particular track is a bit more industrial

Songs from the Ashes/Music from the Scourging ground (1989 compilation—they released a lot of material between 1986-88—a lot of this album falls in the gothic/darkwave category---probably one of my favorite abums of the band)

Trudge (1990) [electronic/industrial] – a compilation of their 89-90 material-- some of their more accessible catchy industrial / electronic stuff

Golgotha (1991) [gothic/ambient] Some of their absolute best material on this one-

Music for Stolen Icons II [Under Paul Lemos & Joe Papa name, essentially a controlled bleeding album 1993]

Dub songs from a Shallow Grave [electronic dub, my fav album of theirs, 1995—nighttime driving music.

Inanition (1996) [high quality ambient w some electronic dub]

Gilded Shadows [electronic dub with more ambient] more night drive music

I listened to the electro dub and enjoyed it well enough. (Anything labeled as noise is discarded as trash.) I'll peep the goth shart later.

Excellent threads bruh, ye put in a lot of effort. Warrants the respect of a listen.

No problem, I didn't expect to get much feedback on those--what is catching your fancy?
I scoped out several random ones, and then settled on Golgotha. Giving that one an iSpin right now, this is definitely my jam! My sad, slow, depressing, methodical jam.
