you mainly want to compress the low end via a multiband compressor just to tame it down a little and keep it balanced, not so much take it out as with high passing with an EQ. It's always best to get a balanced MIX before hitting your master with C4 or a similar multiband Compressor to control the low end. If i was to turn off C4 on my master, the difference would be pretty minimal because i try to get the mix as balanced as i can instead of using my master to fix all of that up. but i also use C4 on my guitars (mainly when im using pod farm) just to keep the low end under control anywhere from 100-250hz depending on the style and tone
