...speaking of... you know what i hate ?
all those promos i used to get in the mail, some unknown bands that printed out an info page, and they would write something stupid like :

"we play progressive black metal with melodic death guitars, some doom touches, and alot of thrash influences, we also play brutal core, grind, and we combine the atmospheric gothic metal together with folk music"

blech.

I always refer to shit like that as buffet metal. My rule for bands i simple: do one thing, do it well, shut the fuck up.

Diversity is always welcome, but I have to agree that stressing it too much just sets one up for disappointment.

"Buffet Metal" is a very cool genre name. You should copyright that.

I don't mind Sigh - they're the epitome of what the Japanese are all about: a near obsession with brutality, psychadelia, opera, and Americanisms. I take them with a smile. Perhaps I wouldn't appreciate them as much if they weren't Japanese for that matter.
