Country Music is Gay

Ok

Man, EVERYBODY'S gay ONCE in a while :D

kenny chesney and tim mcgraw are not country. its pop. its really a shame then when somebody mentions the genre of country, 95% of people think of toby keith and trace adkins and the like. If you want real country, i would think of bands like drive by truckers, ryan bingham, jason isbell. older stuff like gram parsons, emmy lou harris, willie nelson. These assholes put on a country hat and they are country i guess. not to say they arent talented, but they write pop music.

At least in Germany it isn't popular. We have something far, far worse. It's called "Volksmusik" and is designed to make you have intercourse with your siblings. So actually a German redneck counterpart

i know that there's all kinds of funky folk and polka shit in europe...some of which you hear now and then in the US, but not too often - i've been just curious as to whether foreigners buy into all this lame-ass country/pop bullshit that owns the charts over here.

hmm, I think that the captains of the country roads are into it here

While I don't listen country, I think Albert Lee and Dixie Dregs are good. But that's only because I'm a guitarist and Albert Lee and Steve Morse are guitar gods and I like listening good guitar playing. Or are we talking about some other type of country?

I got to record Albert Lee last October. He did a few guest solos on a country record I worked on. Dude can PLAY!

While I would not call myself a big fan of country music, there are some truly amazing guitarists in the country ranks with some mad skills. As a musician I can appreciate the level of talent some of these guys (and gals) possess even if the style of music is not my thing. Might not be my thing, but still impresses me as a musician.

I ain't nothin' but a simple man
They call me a redneck I reckon that I am
But there's things going on
That make me mad down to the core.

I have to work like a dog to make ends meet
There's crooked politicians and crime in the street
And I'm madder'n hell and I ain't gonna take it no more.

We tell our kids to just say no
Then some panty waist judge lets a drug dealer go
Slaps him on the wrist and then he turns him back out on the town.

Now if I had my way with people sellin' dope
I'd take a big tall tree and a short piece of rope
I'd hang 'em up high and let 'em swing 'til the sun goes down

Well, you know what's wrong with the world today
People done gone and put their Bible's away
They're living by the law of the jungle not the law of the land
The good book says it so I know it's the truth
An eye for and eye and a tooth for a tooth
You better watch where you go and remember where you been
That's the way I see it I'm a Simple Man.

Now I'm the kinda man that'd not harm a mouse
But if I catch somebody breakin in my house
I've got twelve gauge shotgun waiting on the other side

So don't go pushing me against my will
I don't want to have to fight you but I dern sure will
So if you don't want trouble then you'd better just pass me on by

As far as I'm concerned there ain't no excuse
For the raping and the killing and the child abuse
And I've got a way to put an end to all that mess

Just take them rascals out in the swamp
Put 'em on their knees and tie 'em to a stump
Let the rattlers and the bugs and the alligators do the rest

You know what's wrong with the world today
People done gone and put their Bible's away
They're living by the law of the jungle not the law of the land
The Good Book says it so I know it's the truth
An eye for and eye and a tooth for a tooth
You better watch where you go and remember where you been

TBH; I've never really listened to country but from what I've heard (esp. this song) country is about: racism, guns and hating everyone but country-guys.

Edit: + Religion (see post below)
