Countryman Type 85 battery mod?

So, I was recording guitar the other day and realized that I had to keep turning up the mic preamp because the DI signal kept getting weaker. For some reason I thought it was just the player playing more softly, until I realized that the DI box was battery powered, duh!

So, I decided I want to opt out of using batteries. I've been thinking of getting a regular 9 volt adapter and cutting the tip off to connect the ends to the battery connection inside the DI box. I'm worried that this could cause some problems, so I'm not too sure if I should do this.

Any help or advise is welcome!

If you do it right it shouldn't cause any damage, but you could have some problems with mains noise

You can use the "phantom power" of your soundcard, i do this all the time :Spin:
