Wow, that's kinda retarded - and what's the two-fingered gesture the devil cherub is doing, anyway? I've seen it on Behemoth and Dimmu album covers, so I know it's something Satanic, but what's the specific meaning behind it?

I think it's on some stained glass windows in churches as well. The satanic element is sorta mocking it.

Its the sign of Hermetism, she points at the ground(Moon of severity), and to the sky(Moon of kindness), it signifies mercy and justice.
I actually used to call my self a "satanist", as I my beliefs of how this world works is very similar to LaVeyism.
But the more I learned about that shitty religion the more i realised its just bullshit.
LaVey himself commited almost all satanic sins and ignored the eleven rules of the earth, so thats like being christian if Jesus where like Arnold Swarzenegger in Terminator 1(Or Stalone in "first blood").

Actually, the open hand is the type of blessing catholic priests usualy do.
Halfclosed hand is quite common in buddhism
I cant really remember exactly how the ritual was supposed to be performed.
But the mother is supposed lie like that on the altar to signify fertility, more then that I cant really remember.

The hand is indeed a symbol of blessing, the three open fingers representing the holy trinity. It's a rather common symbol used in Orthodox art.

Although its not the sign of blessing anyways, atleast not to any of the Abrahamitic religions.
Yeah, but the point was that he didnt even live by "LaVeyism".
He complitely ignored the sins and rules that he self made up.
So that makes him even more of a hipocrit(More then calling himself satanist whilst being Atheist that is.).
