so i was thinking today, it'd be cool if the guys did a kickass cover song for the new cd. now we all know sabbath/priest/maiden/zepplin/ac-dc etc. have been covered to death. here are some i'd like to see them take, put their own spin on it, and still retain the original artists concept.
1. "Break on Through (To the Other Side)...THE DOORS
2. "Magic Carpet Ride"...STEPPENWOLF
3. "For What It's Worth"...BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD
4. "California Dreamin'"...MAMAS AND PAPAS (THIS WOULD KILL IMO!!!)
5. "Fly Like an Eagle"...STEVE MILLER BAND
6. "Mississppi Queen"...MOUNTAIN
7. "All Along the Watchtower"...DYLAN
8. "Land of a 1000 Dances"...WILSON PICKETT
These just came off the top of my head...there's a ton more that would be great choices. My other thought was this...instead of a single track like the above, how about a 10-12 minute medley of classic songs from CREEDANCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL??? How sick would that be??? Can you imagine Chuck growling out "Proud Mary"??? Here's my picks: SUSIE Q...FORTUNATE SON...RUN THROUGH THE JUNGLE...COMMOTION...LONG AS I CAN SEE THE LIGHT...TRAVELIN' BAND(this would be sweet, as it's already a fast song!)...UP AROUND THE BEND...GREEN RIVER...PROUD MARY. Man, that would absolutely kill!!! What do you guys/girls think? What outside the metal realm tunes get your vote?
