the reasons behind this re-recording are cut and dry. it cannot even be argued by fans of the band as "they are re-doing it because they were unhappy with it". money is the motivation. nothing more, nothing less.

I don't see how you can possibly lump Iced Earth in there when Schaffer has been as clear as possible about why they re-recorded the earlier albums. Ask JayK for Jon's rather adamant argument about remastering vs. remixing.
