Hey dudes,

I tried searching for a tutorial on how to make your own 808 sample, but unfortunately I didn't find much besides a bunch of 808 samples. I'm much more interested in actually learning how to make my own sample.
How can I make my own sample?:dopey:

you can use any subtractive/additive synth... specifically sine wave oscillator.

adjust the amp envelope & the pitch envelope.

hmm :err: Should I have a tempo envelope on it too?

For example, Make it slow down a bit towards the end of the sample?

It is nice to know how to make a sample, but sampling is a part of music production that is here to stay. If a song requires an 808 hit I see no reason not to use exactly the sample that it calls for, it would just take unnecessary time and probably end up not sounding as good.

but for a real answer, like everyone else said your best bet is to take a sine wave with a note around G0 and modify the envelope so it looks like an 808 long bass hit.

you can also get good results from then pitch shifting that so it slopes downward making the BEEEEOOOOOOO bass hit sound we all know and love
