Critical Listening

Hey guys.

I feel like the majority of us are self taught and we all spend lots of time reading and listening to learn

I think it's a good idea if we could compile some books/cd/etc that we have studied so that we all can find more info outside of the forum.
I'll start.

Mixing Audio by Roey Izhaki
I must say, this book could qualify as quite the textbook standard on learning the elements of mixing.

Bob Katz Mastering Audio is a solid book, learned alot from that one

Modern Recording Techniques by David Huber/Robert Runstein.

Haven't gotten so long into it, but it explains alot on how this does that and how stuff works in general.

They're more or less the same thing, one's free and one's not But - Golden Ears has much more depth in it. Dual octave drills and all. You gotta try it for yourself to truly see. It's vast, really vast.
