Cruz Del Sur is on a roll!

:erk:

I really love that album, very unique riffing and vocal work. It actually took awhile to grow on me, but it's quite different from Crescent Sheild as well.

You've made me listen to Cresent Shield some more, and I'm really liking it. I think they are better than Slough Feg.

I'm still trying to get into the vocals on Antiquus. If the vocals were a touch more original or edgy, I'd love it.

Pharaoh's The Longest Night (which I listened today) is a nice album as well. :)

Finally, the only Cruz del Sur release that I didn't enjoyed so much is Hammers of Misfortune. Strange?

I cannot see how Zod says the songs aren't memorable though. The melodies they use are ridiculously memorable.
I can't believe he doesn't like Antiquus. He's truly schizophrenic.

I went back and listened to the Crescent Shield last night. I think it clicked... more with me. I thought it had clicked previously, but then it reclicked. It's odd, Power/Traditional Metal doesn't usually take this many listens for me.

I'd agree my tastes are schizo. That said, I'll go back and listen to that Antiquus again. Maybe I missed something the first time.

Re: Crescent Shield -- "North for the Winter" and "The Path once Chosen" are probably the two songs that best represent the band -- aka if you don't really like those tracks then quit while you're ahead.

The Path Once Chosen? I think that this track is the only one that doesn't fits the album. Very good, though.

For me, The Last of My Kind is the best.

I have some potential great news coming from Cruz del Sur. Watch this space!!! (Or I'll probably start a new thread because it deserves it). Just waiting for a bit more info for you people.
