so, what do you think of their new album?

the productions its ok, the drums are great, they sound so natural, the guitars are a bit buried in the mix, but you can still make them out....

also there's some regression on the overall sound, it isnt as techy/flashy as And then you ll Beg..

not the album I was hoping for but a descent effort

Listening to it now, sounds pretty awesome, Flo's drumming is fantastic. The vocals are alot different to what they used to be (I haven't listened to any Cryptopsy album post-None So Vile).

I like it a lot. I don't mind it being less technical because when there's a solo, I shit my pants instantly.

And those gravity blasts... no comments.

Easily in my top 10 this year

Heard 2 songs. Can't base an opinion on it besides...

'Keeping The Cadaver Dogs Busy' = Good
'The Pestilence That Walketh In Darkness' = Crappy

I can tell it's not going to be production wise as good as None So Vile, probably not musically either but i'll wait till I hear it all.

I can not beleive you, any Cryptopsy album with Lord Worm rather than Di Salvo is a major let down, and as for And then you'll Beg, that album is class, take 'We Bleed' for example the text version of a kick ass metal song and sums up the whole album.

wrong on all points, get the shit out

Why would Century Media put up an un-mastered mp3 ?. From what I know it's the mastered. The guitars are so weak, muffled, low in the mix, sometimes you can't hear what's going on. The drums are loud which is great if the guitar sound was not so weak. I tend to notice non death metal bands have heavier, more upfront guitars than a lot of DM.

I think DiSalvo's vocals gave Crypotpsy the attack they needed to compliment the riffs and drums of some of the best metallers around, i think 'Lord Worm' would be better suited in an office clicking his fingers to the fucking lighthouse family getting his dick sucked by a big alsatain dog.

Lord Worm is far superior to disalvo. he just does some crazy, crazy stuff with his voice. he sounds like a guy being murdered or something. and his lyrics are freakin awesome to boot.

Second'd, DiSalvo had an extremely annoying voice that didn't suit Cryptopsy at ALL.

BTW:

Blasphemy Made Flesh > None So Vile > Once Was Not > And Then You'll Beg > Whisper Supremacy

well, in the songs I heard he wasn't doing anything like he used too...which really dissappointed me :(

Lord Worm sounds like he did on the early cryptopsy demos',blasphemy made flesh. It sucks the music is forgetable majority of the time. Lord Worm sounds like it's 93, but the music is metalcore influenced in 2005. It sucks they could not have connected more. It sounds rushed even though they have did not put out a cd since 2001. They both conflict most of the time. There is no excuse for it being rushed musically, production wise. Surely people are going to say it was not rushed but I don't believe that.

i dont hear the influence of metalcore in the new album at all... to me it is a little change.... for the good... i think lord worm puts more feeling and effort into cryptopsy which makes the whole band want to play better, and thats why he is better than DiSalvo.

The music is still crazy cryptopsy with amazing drumming by Flo. There is one riff in the whole album that might be considered "metalcore" but i dont think they ment it to be like that...

Far better than their previous 2 efforts....

Worm doesn't sound as crazy on this album as on None So Vile, that's a bit of a dissapointment. The guitars are perfectly fine. If anything, the drums being so loud is what makes the guitars hard to follow at times, not the muddy sound of the guitars. Probably a bit of a combination of the two. I like what I hear so far.

I think Lord Worm sounds as demented as ever. I've listened to this album at least 30 times now and I've gotta say this is right up there with NSV as far as I'm concerned.

Mike DiSalvo? hah...what a turd. The Worm is back in full force and I couldn't be happier.
