Cubase n00b question.

I've been having issues with the midi drum editor window not syncing up with the audio tracks. It's incredibly difficult to program drums like this..Any ideas as to what's wrong??

you have to set your output of your midi track to some drum vsti and everything will be fine

I think you need to turn on the snap button.

It looks kinda like this: >I< the button is next to the quantize button that is blue you need to click the snap once, it will turn blue to let you know its activated. then try programing the drums

I'm assuming you recorded the audio before programming MIDI drums. If you program drums first and use them as your click track, everything lines up automatically.

You could Time Stretch to get your Tempo exactly in sync with the audio files. Then lining up your MIDI drums notes with the grid should work perfectly. I'm at work, so I can't get to Youtube from here, but this is a really short tutorial on Time Stretching.

Otherwise, do a Youtube search for "Cubase Time Stretching."

Sometimes cubase is a little funky at some zoom levels. try zooming in and out a little on the main project windows and see if anything changes.

Might help to set both grids to the same timebase too.
