cubase problem

Still running cubase 4. I opened up some older projects and getting loud popping noises and it will eventually freeze up. Nothing is different than when I originally recorded the project.I can turn the volume of the noise down only by directly turning the knob on my monitors. Anyone have an idea how to fix ? Thanks

Buffer rate changed? Are they killing your CPU?

Dont think so. Everything is set up the same. Current projects play fine and have twice the plugs running some of them the same. When I render it comes out clean, no problems

Try disabling all the plug-ins one-by-one to find the culprit.

Well I took all the plugins out of the project and it still does it. I brought up the asio /disk meter and every time it popped it spiked the meter.

Is your old project stored on another hard drive or partition than your new ones ?
