Cubase SX3 problem

So my Cubase is acting up.
Every time I open it it gives me an error message and crashes after I try to open up a project. I've tried updating drivers, reinstalled Cubase twice and did pretty much every thing I could think of, but it still doesn't work.

The error message is just "a problem has occured, and your program might run unstably" (abridged from German)

Any help?

If you're on Windows

My Computer > C: > Documents and Settings > Your User > Application Data > Steinberg

If you're on a Mac

Check /Library/Preferences or maybe /Library/Cubase/Preferences

Just make a backup copy of the original directory and add a .backup to the directory name, and remove the original one.

well, that didn't work.
It's telling me to check a file in my Cubase folder called "Cubasesx3.LOG", which doesn't exist.
