I had to do a system restore to my system (hard drive is dying it turns out), and when I tried to start Cubase I got an error saying a soft eLicenser has been deactivated. It pointed to the fact that I did a backup or restore as the reason for this, but it says hardware eLicensers are not affected.
Cubase starts normally, so I'm not sure what is going on. Why would it say I have a soft eLicenser? WHen I go to the LCC, it shows my USB dongle licenses and then a red deactivated soft eLicenser with a number as well...The icon is a picture of a hard drive (the USB dongle icon is the USB stick).
I sent a support request form to Steinberg, but I don't even know what this soft eLicenser does, and it shows no licenses attached to it.
any ideas?
EDIT
Nevermind...Holy quick reply! Steinberg says the soft eLic is for SEL products, which I don't use...
