Anybody else down with this?

They've once again followed Neurosis' lead, but they're starting to differentiate themselves now. There's this cool Southwestern feel to this disc. It feels like it could have been the soundtrack for that movie U-Turn.

I got this for review, and am very impressed after only a couple listens. Nate's right on as far as the odd, SW feel. Really helps them carve out a space of their own.

Willowtip has this for 11 bucks, btw.

I don't see the Neurosis comparisons on the one hand and on the other it's not that memorable. D'oh

Funny thing is that I was going to start a topic about Culf Of Luna also. It seems that it's really solid material. I've listened to it only couple of times, but it appears that they've really evolved, I agree they're starting to really differentiate themselves. Very very interesting. And as comparisons to Neurosis, Isis or Pelican cannot be avoided, there's not really much to compare. The most similiar thing about these bands is the mood, and the rest is pretty different. As for new Cult Of Luna, you could hear some interesting stuff inspired by these bands + bunch of other (new) ideas.

Cult Of Luna side-project Koma deserves more attention.
