Cynic 1990 Demo

Diggin' through my old cassettes this weekend and came across this gem. No clue if it still plays or not since I don't have a tape deck anymore. I must have gotten this in a trade back in the early 90's. It's been a box for at least 15 years now.

I checked with Paul on Facebook and he can confirm its legit. Its one of the demos they put out themselves before Epidemic issued it. And that's his old phone number on there.

Pretty damn cool if you ask me.

Someone needs to reissue their demos. Their full lengths are garbage.

Edit: Never mind, looks like they did exactly that earlier this year.

I wouldnt call thier full albums garbage, but I definitely prefer the sound on the demos.

I had this comp when I was 14 or 15 and this was easily my favourite thing from it at the time. I remember being super disappointed when I checked out the version from Focus and it sounded nothing like it.

I had that on vinyl. And yeah the Cynic demos have aged way better than Focus. Less production, no vocoder and Tony Choy on bass.
